Flexibility, durability and outstanding acoustics
There is a boom in co-working offices, where freelancers, start-ups, micro businesses, small and medium-sized companies and corporations work side by side. Flexible contracts, low maintenance costs, attractive environments and a switch to hybrid working has driven occupier demand.
Dutch global real estate company, Spaces, recently opened its second office in Warsaw. The flexible office space accommodates multiple businesses and nationalities offering amenities including hot desks, private meeting rooms, kitchens and communal areas. The acoustics need to be comfortable, with private conversations undisturbed by unwanted sounds. Minimising noise levels and preventing it from spreading freely was a key requirement for the designers, who chose Rockfon to complement the interior design and create outstanding acoustic areas.
Healthy acoustics in an open space
Research shows that the right acoustics prevent chronic stress, irritability and boost productivity. The Sales Director of Spaces for Poland, Rafel Gabteni says: “Out of concern for our customers, we concluded that it’s necessary to install acoustic ceilings in our office. We used the Rockfon Mono Acoustic ceiling recommended by the architects that stops reverberation on open surfaces. As it turned out, this solution works perfectly, especially in such large areas as ours.”
It was not only for its acoustic properties that the choice fell on Rockfon Mono Acoustic, its aesthetic qualities with a seamless and monolithic surface where there are no visible joints between the panels, perfectly fits the modern aesthetic of Spaces. The ceiling was mounted directly to the ceiling, so the water, electricity and air conditioning systems remained exposed. The entire ceiling and services are painted in a uniform colour.
Make yourself feel at home while working
Natural materials such as warm, honey-coloured wood, fabrics and carefully selected furniture and lighting in pastel colours, counterbalanced the industrial atmosphere. “The whole thing creates a unique atmosphere in which it’s easy to forget for a moment and feel at home. The smallest elements of the decor are made of the highest quality materials and proven ergonomic standards that ensure high functionality of the surface. You can work comfortably in our interiors, and it’s hard to get bored”, Rafal Gabteni adds.
The Spaces facility is located in the Platinium building in Warsaw, keeping the same design standards applied in all of its 48 offices around the world. The global concept of Spaces was implemented in Platinium by a team of architects from the international interior design group, Hyphen Group. The executive design was carried out by the Polish design office - APMD. Thanks to the combination of various, high-class competences in one team, Spaces Platinium has received its own individual and unique character that is difficult to confuse with any other brand.
