It’s owned by Ali and his cousin, Mojtaba. Ali became a barber to continue a long standing family tradition. His father was a barber, and his father’s father was a barber. For Ali, being a Barber is in his blood. He loves the social atmosphere of barbershops and the fact that no two haircuts are ever the same.

Ali successfully applied for a grant from Glasgow City Council to do a £20,000 makeover of his shop during the 2020/21 lockdowns. Inspired by Pinterest and other social media sites, Ali and his family wanted to give their shop a classic old school, hipster, barber shop theme which they felt best suited their brand, their personalities and their Iranian heritage.

Ali had seen a Rockfon ad on Facebook for a new range of colourful acoustic ceiling tiles, did his research on https://rockfoncolours.com/ and chose Rockfon Color-all® in Concrete to suit his interior scheme. The shop has wall-mounted TV's, but the hard surfaces made noise from the music videos bounce around the shop, making conversations difficult.

The makeover is really great, it’s like a cabin in the woods. Wood panelled walls, wooden floors, orange lightbulbs in custom-made black lampshades give it a really warm, cosy feel and of course the classic barbershop scent (musky and citrussy at the same time), is a great sensory experience. For this project, Rockfon Color-all® tiles in Concrete was a neutral colour which complemented the colour scheme of the shop whilst achieving great acoustic control.

Jim Lundy, our Area Sales Manager in Scotland helped Ali choose the best product for the job.
