There are five key learning outcomes from this CPD:
Firstly, how poor acoustics is one of the unforeseen consequences of modern interior design and it is having a negative impact on building users.
Secondly, adding an acoustic ceiling will help overcome poor acoustics and there are many options available to you. You will be familiar with a traditional tile and grid ceiling, islands and baffles. But a smooth, seamless acoustic ceiling is much less known.
Thirdly, it is not suitable for all projects. We will show you when and when it is not appropriate to specify by showing you case studies from around Europe.
Next, you will want to know the practicalities of dealing with things like in-ceiling AV equipment, how to access services and how it transitions into a plasterboard ceiling. We’ve included those details in here.
Finally, there is a section on whether a seamless acoustic ceiling contributes to a circular business model and building rating schemes.
