Releasing Second-Generation Environmental Product Declarations

Rockfon is proud to unveil a new version of product-specific Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for 160 acoustic product variants across wall and ceiling acoustic solutions, setting out to deliver transparency and additional resources for architects, builders, and designers.

The new version expands coverage for 91 percent of total sales with product-specific EPDs. All environmental impacts are declared per module to comply with the European standard EN 15804+A2, granting clarity on sustainability performance.

Customers have access to full information on products' specific environmental impacts, which are all third-party verified and validated. The release makes it easy to input values into building life cycle assessments so that projects are accurately assessed and optimised.   

The development is an upgrade of Rockfon’s first-generation EPDs, launched in 2021, wherein a universal declaration was provided for all ceiling tiles. The values for all products would previously be calculated by adding a scaling factor to a reference tile based on density to the values.

The new EPDs complement various recent efforts by Rockfon in playing a part in green building initiatives and meeting targets within regulatory and voluntary frameworks. The second-generation EPDs can be accessed on the Rockfon Document Library.
